I did two nocturne paintings during the 30 Day Painting Competition in September. This first one is an imaginary composition, since I only visited the marsh during the day. I imagined that it would look similar to the moon shining over the ocean.

This second one is a memory painting. My family and I climbed down the very tall dunes and walked the beach at night. The moon was bright and lit up the ocean. This is how I remember it.
