Abstract Daisies

Abstract Daisies 8 x 8 Oil by Ann McCann ©2015

Daisies are happy flowers.  Painting them thickly with a palette knife was great fun.  Do they make you smile?

Turtle Creek Azaleas II

5 X 7" Oil on Linen Panel

If you are interested in purchasing this, contact Ann McCann at alouisemccann@gmail.com.

Here is the azalea companion painting.  In this painting you can see the creek behind the bushes.  These pinks and reds are bright and hot. The two paintings would look great together.

Cherry Lane

A friend asked me to paint a photo that she liked of cherry trees blooming in a park.  What a beautiful spot.
This is a palette knife painting  9" X 12" on a linen panel.

We spent Christmas 2015 in historic downtown Savannah.  The days were warm and sunny so we went to Tybee Beach. We spend several hours watching our niece and nephew play in the waves.  The sky was a lovely blue with wispy clouds.  That is my kind of winter!

"Smell the Lilacs"  9 X 12" Knife Painting by Ann McCann

9" X 12" Knife Painting on Linen Panel

We can't grow these in Texas, but they are the sign of spring in Michigan where I grew up.  And the smell is unforgettable.

Texas Bluebonnets

9" X 12 " Oil on Linen Panel

I painted this scene last year plein air.  We visited the spot again last week, and I got a good photo.  So I painted it again this weekend in my studio.  It definitely feels like spring in Texas.

Abstract Flowers

I really had fun creating these knife paintings of flowers on abstract backgrounds.  My friends responded positively to them so I just kept painting them.  The paint is thick and juicy.  They would look great in a grouping on your wall.
