Red, White and Blue

Ann McCann (c) 2015

I painted this from above photo. I was feeling patriotic but thought the flag was too much for the painting.

11 X 14 oil on a linen panel. Palette knife painting.

This is available at Antique Row at 5013 West Lovers in Dallas.

Pink Crape Myrtle on Matilda

Here's another a painting of my Dallas neighborhood.  This is a beautiful pink crape myrtle in full bloom in front of an historic arts and craft houses from the early 1900s.  Its basking in the heat of an 100 degree day in August!

Hot Crape Myrtles by Ann McCann 9 X 12 Oil

I tried to capture the look of my street on a very hot day with the crape myrtles in full bloom. I think I did it!  This is a palette knife painting of the crapes that border the street and my neighbor’s wonderful arts and crafts bungalow.  Our houses are on a hill above the street with curvy "waterfall" steps.

Carnations & Lilies by Ann McCann 8 X 8 Oil

This is a small vignette of carnations and lilies, of pink, blue and white. The arrangement was in bright light so I captured that with the light blues and pinks.

Pink and Perfect

Coneflowers have taken over my front yard, and I'm loving it. I painted them with a knife against the dark shadow of my house.

View of Pienza

11 X 14 " Oil on Linen Panel
If you are interested in buying this painting, contact Ann McCann at alouisemccann@gmail.com.

This was the view we had everyday from our villa in Tuscany, the medieval town of Pienza with its golden brown brick buildings and orange tile roofs. Then there are the silver olive trees and spiky green cypress trees.   This was the vacation home of long dead popes.  I wanted to paint it every day, but there were so many other wonderful places to paint too.
